Our last night in Thailand was spent packing in the Kata Beach Resort & Spa. We checked into our room and noticed that there were a few mosquitoes in the room, and as the night went on the situation got progressively worse. I went over o the sliding patio door to check out the situation, and noticed that there was about an inch gap in the bottom corner where the door didn’t match up to the frame. We called the front desk and asked to be moved to another room, and they told me someone would come up to check on the situation. They sent up a Thai woman with a big spray can of insect repellent. I showed her the gap, and said we wanted a new room. Next a maintenance man came up. He fiddled around with the door for awhile (all the time the door was wide open…now that’s a good way to keep the mosquitoes out) and when he couldn’t solve the problem he called in for backup. The second maintenance man came in, and his solution was to take the entire door off (an even better solution to keeping the mosquitoes out)! I called the front desk and demanded that we be changed to another room and they finally complied.
After about five hours of sleep, we were off to the airport and the most amazing spring break ever was over.
